Default whats the deal with puck type clutches

I have a 3 puck unsprung clutch in my Hybrid now (which is slipping now after 6 months of beating on it), and i just got a new act 6 puck unsprung in the mail today. I loved the 3 puck> Question is, i have heard a few times that a 3 puck actually engages harder than a 6. Is this due to there being less contact area? Anyone familiar with this $hit?

Yes- less pressure area= higher pressure per square inch.

If you had a three puck and it slipped, you are most likely gonna be unhappy with the 6 puck.
