Default HomeMade TURBO DEL SOL!

finally got my car boosted!

this project has taken me over a year already... it took forever to find the parts and i did EVERYTHING myself. feel free to post good/bad comments. it's currently running 7lbs of boost

note the G-to-the-HETTOness of the TB connector... gonna replace it with a nitrile soon.

charge lines and turbo setup

name that BOV

SMIC

CRX HF manifold
homemadeturbo.com xXx Adaptor plate
AFC hack on 390cc injectors
TD04-13b
DSM SMIC
NGK ZFR6J-11s
misc charge lines
awesome oil feed kit thanks to Flamenco-T

i made a downpipe but it's not really connected to the exhaust or cat... but at least it got a little quieter.

RAN IT AT THE TRACK LAST NIGHT!!!!!
i did a 17.68...

it's got tons of power but the clutch just breaks free when i get into boost... i ran it and i was like WTF revs going up, speed staying the same.....
i'm replacing the clutch this friday hopefully. parts already came in. it's an ACT stage 2 kit. should be good after that

Sweet. But that's an awful lot of IC piping to run. Why not just run the SMIC on the passenger side fender? That would free up ALOT of piping, and it'll be a straight shot into the TB.

Anyways, great HOMEMADE job!

all in all the turbo setup cost less that $500.

but $200 of those dollars went to the new O2 sensor

Looking good man, I'm working on the homemadeturbo install myself

I have a quick question for ya: what settings were you using for the VAFC hack with the 390s?

Congrats, and hope you rip off some blingin' times once you get that clutch replaced

if i remember right it's -34 idle, then -31 all the way across.

and it's still running rich as hell. sparkplugs, downpipe, everything, is black black black, and A/F gauge only lights up the last green LED at any time besides LTFC

i have an EGT with the probe mounted right after the DSM o2 housing at the start of the downpipe and it normally cruises at around 450deg at idle. ~600 cruising, highest i can get it to is about 1200deg if i hold boost in 5th going up a hill for a long time. i'm currently saving for a wideband o2 so i can do some tuning and watch whats going on. just another gauge to make my dash look more like a spaceship lol

AC was never installed on my car, but i suppose it would fit without the SMIC there. the charge lines are pieces of 1g and 2g DSM charge lines along with compression bent 2" exhaust piping. the BOV is a 1g DSM and it's on the stock piece of pipe w/ flange. i will try and replace those shitty *** pictures when i can get my other digital camera working.
