Default seen this video and it seems like the crx would flip easier then any other honda follow by hatchback

Im just thinking about it after i seen this video at SRO, this crx went over a curve bump and from my view, that with a little more speed he could of had fliped. if you heard, seen, or know the 411 on this let me know cause i been wanting to go Road Racing and fixing up suspension in my crx but if its has problems with being stable I would have to change my mind.

http://www.streetracing.org/home.php?op=go&id=845
take a look at that golden crx after that bump.

Nothing unstable about CRXs at all and I don't really see anything out of the ordinary or even minutely close to a flip. He popped a berm but the car did what any car would and he caught it with no big drama. If you don't pop a berm now and then , you probably aren't trying hard enough but this was a total non-event in the grand scheme of things. Later he got caught in someone else's marbles and drove off an escape road.

Reminds me of the Russell School I did at Sears Point years ago.

I'd call it a total non-event. Got pinched into the curb and bounced over it. that made the car push out a bit and need correction, simply not a big deal. If you asked the driver if he thought the car was about to roll, he'd look at you funny and ask what you mean. If you really want to see air, watch SSB and SSC cars go through the busstop at Watkins Glen. A good driver can keep both inside tires in the air from the first to the second inside curb. Can be fun, but makes the flaggers mad in a DE event.

Looks to me like he got in a little tight on that corner. I am guessing he is running a fairly high spring rate in the rear and the combination of the two led to him bouncing that rear up a little bit. Not a big deal, pretty common in racing. He also seemed to make a very wise decision in straightning the wheels when he realized he was going off a few turns later. Good driving IMO

Who was that anyways? Andy?

Looked pretty uneventful to me. Not even close to rolling...

I was at the Glen last year with the BMW club and a guy was there trying out his new SSC Mini. We were having fun chasing each other and I was following him through the busstop and first he bounced it off the right curb, bashed it into the first inside curb and lifted both left sides, turned in and carried them in the air to the second inside curb. They kept black flagging him for having two wheels off the track! That was at about 85 mph.

Did I mention he was given the car to drive and his sponsor was a body shop? This may have had some influence on his driving style.

I dunno. I dont think he was in any danger of flipping at all. But I think it may have cuased the driver to lose a little focus. A couple turns later he goes off course, I know there was a lot of dirt flying but from what Ive witnessed through e-racing it didn't seem like enough dirt to freak someone out.

Then again maybe Im missing something here.

A crx I would not be to worried about, they are very shiney side up friendly, My old bimmer on the other hand is a top heavy nighmare!

here is a pic of the first time I almost flipped it at the local auto-x.

Yes that's Andy Hope's car. His explanation of why he ran off onto the access road is here: https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by AndyHope &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I picked off 3 or 4 USTCC guys in the first half lap and as we were approaching the esses I saw KIWI getting sideways and sliding across the dirt. He gathered it up pretty quick but he obviously had lost speed. I thought that if I could power through it I’d be able to pass him at turn 10. It was a bad choice though. The dirt landed on the track right in front of me and I slid wide. I was left with the choice of drifting through the dirt and hopping back on the track or going down this other paved section that I was pretty much heading toward anyway. I chose the pavement hoping I could just take it till it merged back with the track. But in font of me was a tight 40 mph chicane that would spit me out into the other cars that were going 100+. So just like the day before I had to stop and watch the whole field of 38 cars go by.</TD></TR></TABLE>

fun vid. but a car usually flips by going in the dirt sideways and catching a tire in the grass or mud. going over a berm is not an issue.

Often times you will get a wheel up but will not even notice it. I've seen some footage of me - I had no idea my rear wheel was off the ground. You're so focused on the driving; you also get used to it.

Definately not close to flipping. I wish I had access to the NHIS SCCA photo that was published in Pit Talk. Now that was close! Anyone have that pic?

I here that. People used to ask me if I got wheel lift, and I would say "naw, I'm not that crazy". Then I saw some video of myself at thunderhill close up into turn 14. I was shocked that my rear tire was 2 inches of the ground through the whole entry! It is amazing what even a hint of trail braking does.
