So wetsanding
I found an older post on someone asking what westanding was. Just to make sure what it is.. It's just sanding it while pouring water over the car every now and then? Is this REQUIRED? Should you be using more than 1 grit of paper?
It is usually done after you get a fresh paint job. You can do it on any paint job just make sure you don't cut through the paint ( excessive sanding in one general area). If your car has been painted a few years back and you want some shine, go with a 2000 grit and buff. After a fresh paint job 1000-1500 is the most common grit used. Run water over the designated area while simultaneously sanding .
Oh wait I thought this sanding process was done for prepping your car to BE painted.. What does wet sanding do? sounds painful to new paint..
so now about prepping for paint.. If I were gonna sand the whole car down myself and primer it.. What type of grit(s) do I need to do that? thanks for clearing some of the confusion so far..
