We bought this at a tow and storage lot (basically cars that are towed from accidents or whatever kind of like an impound) no title, 150 bucks. Badging says Si and we are just looking for a crap car to learn on and fix up possibly, runs like crapola. So we decide to do some research on it and I know that it has the 12 valve motor but we are confused and sad , because now we realize that someone just threw an SI badge on there.

What does GL/GLS/LX mean exactly? and from the specs that I have seen the 12 valve motor was only used in 1984 in japan... any clarifications here wil lbe helpful.


the only thing I think is that maybe an engine swap

what years the car? the 84-87 USDM Crx's came with a 12 valve I think.. If its 88-91 and your curious if its si just look to see if it has a sunroof and more spefically if its 90-91 look for rear disk

 

its a 1986, and we figured out it is SI we ran carfax on it (but didnt buy it) and according to carfax it is SI, japan spec. witth the ew4 motor
