Default Serious problem with S2K oil filter

Okay, so as we've all noticed Honda downsized their oil filters. I've been reading the posts and it was recommended to use the S2K filter b/c it remained the same size and was made in Japan by Toyo Roki instead of the poorer quality filter made in Canada by Fram. Well I started the car up and hte oil pressure was about 88 psi. I thought maybe b/c the car was cold the oil press. was high. Well at idle after being warm the oil press. was 75 psi and b/c my car idles erratically the oil press. at idle was between 50psi and 75psi. Never lower. I revved the car up to 3 grand the oil press. gauge went over 100psi. So what do i do now? Recommendation of oil filter?
Also I noticed that the oil pressure sendin unit was leakin just a little, could that be from high oil press? What should my oil pressure be at idle and at WOT?

Stick with the oem size. Dont even bother with the S2K filter, people talk outta they *** sometimes.

Matter of fact dont even use oem filters because there are much better filters out there for the same price. Do a search under my name cause I posted some links to a a site that breaks down lotsa filters. I go with Bosch premiums or PureOne's, K&N and Mobil makes some really weel constructed filters, metal end caps silicone drain back valves and good filter medium.

yikes, I wonder what my pressure is like - I use mobile1 m1-105, from a mitsu montero '88.
It is quite bigger than oem.

Something else must be going on unrelated to the filter. Check this link. The S2000 Toyo Roki filters (#15400-PCX-004) are identical to HAMP, and Toyo Roki makes HAMP which people have been using for a long time:

My guess is your using a autometer guage and it is craping out...70-80 psi is normal on startup and if you had an erattic idle, that would keep the car reving would would never let the pressure drop to the lower idle.

I am sorry to hear that you had bad luck with the s2k filter. I spoke to 94accordDX and he ran (and still does) the s2k filter on his H series motor with no problems whatsoever. There has been 2 other members who have also vouched for this filter working just fine. I was going to run the filter but luckily the dealership got a special shipment of OEM filters in so I decided to purchase 15 of them. They should last me a few years since I do not put more then 6-9k miles on my car per year. When I do run out I plan on running Mobile 1 filters.
