I did a search and couldnt find a thing. Whats the main difference between the JDM 96-97 ITR motor and the JDM 98-01 ITR motor? I'm just curious because a shop is selling their 98-01 ITR motors for almost 1k more than the 96-97 ones. TIA

final drive changes from 4.4 to 4.785. header im not sure about, but i believe remained the same.
the cams MIGHT have gotten just the SLIGHTEST bit more agressive. and i do put slightest in the highest emphasis. the compression might have gotten a small bump. of maybe .1 or .2?
these are off the top of my head, the only one im sure about is the tranny. the other 2 are educated guesses that i seem to recall from a while back.

the jdm 96-97 itr motor came with a 2 piece header, correct me if im wrong, the newer ones came with a 1 piece, once again, correct me if im wrong.
shorter final drive, 4 to 1 header on the 98 up
i have a 97 and it's cool...they all have the 2.5 inch collector on the header.
what kind of car you putting it in? if it's an EG i have the stock gsr obd2 engine harness if you need it... this will allow you to plug and play instead of doing extra wiring.
let me know.
