1/4 time for Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
I'm just wondering what the 1/4 mile time is for the Lancer Evolution? I've heard anywhere from 13.0-14.2. Car and Driver magazine has down 14.2@98, but it also has the S2000 at 14.1@97, which I know the S2000 is faster than that so I dont know if Car and Driver has a little slower times or what? Please let me know?
im not sure if posting links is ok

Lotta hear say about 12 sec stock evo's not true. They have been racing them here since the Evo 3 came out. The biggest problem when they get fast is the transfer case keeps breaking, so they have a HUGE obstacle
ya i seen one of them lock up here in phila while he was racing down a street want not a pretty site car was trashed and landed on it roof

yeah, that sounds about right. And it also points out how important the driver is.
Motortrend tested the evo with a professional driver on Ford's Arizona Proving Ground in Kingman, Arizona for their "Speeding" article in the June '03 issue and they netted a 13.08@105.12mph launching at 5000rpm w/a gentle feathering of the clutch.
Correct me if I'm wrong but that trap speed should be good for a 12 sec. time if they got some better traction. Keep in mind this car is bone stock with stock rubber too.
Shows how important the driver is because I've seen evo's with some stuff done only running 13.3's, 13.2's.

A local guy ran a 12.94 with just a boost controller, and the rest of the guys were running low-mid 13's, most with no or 1-2 small mods......like all cars, driver matters alot
I have a video of the EVO whooping an Sti if anyone wants it

i ran a new evo at the track about a month or 2 ago. his 1st run against me he went 13.3. later that night i watched him run a 12.8 and 12.9. car had an exhaust. a combo of seat time/launching harder and cooler air at night helped him out.
in my best friends Evo 7 we run consistant 13.6's with no mods, and not beating the crap out of it- no dropping the clutch, no melting the clutch, just normal good launches.
oh yeah- it's for sale.
