Default attn: all motor junkies

I want to get some advice for my b16 set up. Car is an EF, with 1st gen b16, very good condition, strong motor, doesn't burn a drop of oil.

My plans include:

bigger throttle body - JG or ITR

Intake manifold - ITR or (opinions here)

Cams - I am thinking CTR cams and valve train.

But will I benefit from skunk 2 stage 2 cams as opposed to CTR cams? Or
tell me other cams you guys think are good.

And finally a good header. I need some opinions about the header also. I want a good header, which headers are dyno proven?

I am getting the exhaust put on this saturday, custom 2 1/2 " mandrel bent exhaust, no cat, straight through magnaflow muffler.

Please add suggestions, opinions or thoughts to make more power. TIA

The only difference I can add to what advan said is to go with the AEBS manifold over the ITR. THe ITR can and has been beaten. Granted, the AEBS manifold didn't make too much more power over teh ITR mani, but it's $180 new, compared to about the same price or more for a used ITR unit.

Keep it simple, then tune.

Stage 3 jun's seem nice, but on a stock bottom end. I was under the impression cams love compression, but I guess you can still make power with stock compression.

I can't get to ef-1.com. Where can I get a 10-90 header from?

Thanks for helping, I am new to some of these parts. What is an AEB6 manifold?

good point on the AEBS mani Waffles.. I think power was about 1-2 whp more, but for the price you can't beat it.. i guess.....

ITR throttle body $250
ITR intake mani $200
ITR cams $400
ITR 4-1 header $350

Total cost $1200

Sell your b16 longblock for $600 and buy an $1800 GSR longblock.

Total cost $1200

Keep the distributor and injectors from your b16 so you can stay OBD0.

One more question:

What is the best header for a b16?

Comptech, DTR?

i want to see that header against something more worthy than a Stock LS Header It wouldn't take much to gain 17 hp from an LS Vtec with that header on...

how much are you looking to spend on a header?

You have to remember that 17whp gain was just by swaping headers with no tunning what so ever. Thats a pretty big improvment if you ask me.

Around $500 or so.

And with the cams I don't want just a high peak HP number, I am looking for nice midrange power, if thats possible with the b16.

Mike is sending the 10-94 header to the Titan header challenge- which is actually my header so, I guess it's the poster child at present. This is the first actual header that has gone out, and the new one that he is making me is going to put down more than this first design. Just a little FYI for you on 10-94. Header was about 575

Actually coated mild header is cheaper
