I just got a LS motor, its sorta hot, and I had already boughten the motor, so there is no way in returning it to the owner, who lives 1234325435 miles away from me!

I need to get rid of the short block of the motor (Bottom Block)

I need to know what bottom block will bolt on directly to the head of the 97' motor....here are the questions...

1 : B16A bottom block ?
2 : B18C bottom block ?
3 : B20B/Z bottom block ?

Any other suggestions? The BIGGEST problem I am having is fitment problems....I just need a legit Short Block.....thanks for all the help in advance

a b20b/z will work, so will the vtec blocks, but I wouldn't use the vtec blocks. Another b18a/b will owrk and will be the cheapest route. Sell me that block...what about 30 bucks plus shipping. Like they say, half of these motors sitting in hybrids are stolen anyways

 

if you use a b20 block then it will basically be a b20. keep your exhaust manifold. you're going to need it. and the tranny and computer too. some people say that the LS head is actually better than the b20, but they are almost the same.

If not then imma stick to the B18A/B, I want a B18A bottom block, cause those feel a little more like pulling than the newer B18B blocks.....Just me I guess...

Damn there are so many B16's lying around for cheap....I just need a short block!

Anyone selling one?!!??!?! And Slow_ass_4dr when I get my bottom block, I will either sell you my 1997 B18B bottom block, or my 1992 B18A bottom block (in the car now).....keep tabs.....later
