To put back on, or not???
On June 21 I was doing a mountain run and some how flew off the road at high speeds, I was knocked unconcious and don't remember anything about the wreck or about 15 minutes before hand. The car was totaled and one wheel broke. The wheel that broke was a Rota circuit 8, it could have been from going off the road, but it looked like a very clean break. It broke around the lip of the wheel, but here again i'm not sure if that is what caused the accident. Now I'm rebuilding another car and was wondering if I should buy one more wheel and still role on the rotas or sell the remaining 3, and buy different wheels. Wondering if I should take a chance again. Any suggestions?? Thanks
Yes I know it was a kinda stupid thing to do, but thats why I am asking you autocrossers for advise. Next time I will be at a autocross event. So any suggestions??
My question:
If you were to decide that the wheels are too dangerous to put back on your car, how can you, in good conscience, sell them to someone else?

no ****?!? thanks for reminding me once again that I was very stupid, and wasn't thinking. I just asked if any of you had any suggestions on the wheels, not on my driving. I'm not going to be that stupid again. Thats why I want to autocross, its more of a controlled environment. Thanks
Let me rephrase that, it wasn't a mountain run. I was taking a trip which involved going over a mountain to get there. I so happened that I started to drive like a *** a somehow lost control of my vehicle and ended up hitting a tree roof first. It was a very eye opening experiance. I can now see how stupid I was, i'm sure that none of you have ever taken a chance and driven fast on the streets, but thanks for the help.

Personally I wouldn't trust those remaining Circuit 8's. I've seen one too many of those bent or broken as a result of hard use. YMMV of course...

Hey no big deal...some of us just have more luck than others. I dont drive crazy anymore on the road but I would be a liar if I said I never did.
As for the wheels the circuit 8's have been the only ones (from Rota) Ive seen break (on h-t) so I imagine there is a risk of further damage to the other wheels.
You can make a really close inspection of the wheels for hairline cracks.
