Si climate control swap for dx EK, please HELP!
I have a '96 EK dx hatch and when i went to switch climate control(the piece where radio goes) from DX to a stock 2000 Si climate control, I had trouble trying to fit in because the way they have the plastic for the stock DX vents. do I cut the plastic or is there some kit? also everything clips in but the air power control; I can rig it and have it sticking out of the tray that goes under radio, but would be nice if everything worked. If needed I'll get pictures to explain
yeah, thats the thread you need.
then you will need a grip of other parts too and have to remove your dash to put them in.

cut the one on your left side and you wont have a problem because the one on the right side snaps in and connects with no problem but you won't beable to get them to light up because of the plugs they dont match up only thing is the hazzard. pm me if you need more help
wtf are you talking about dude?
sorry let me edit all that and start over
your climate control (00) the vents wont match up with the vents on your dash board. so heres what you do CUT the LEFT VENT the one in the center when you take out your climate control (98) and the two vent holes left/right you cut the left one up and you have to brake off or unscrew all the tabs and your done.

all the other models for the most parts have a "heater control rod on the heater control it's self that runs to your heatervalve (on the firewall under enginebay) and either pushes or pulls to open the inlet for the coolant to flow into the core. The 99's civic's however have a **** that controls a motor mounted on the side of the heater core way under the dash that opens/close the flow of coolant into the core... so unless you plain on having a lil string attached to open and close this valve the swap is only cosmetic....... belive me I learned all this about 3 months ago!
Now I have a 99 civic SI dash, heater core, climates contorl and now I am working on the wiring... (may only have to add 3-4 wires, i have a 99 si dash harness
)
note: you can interchange the vents inside the dash to prevent clipping etc by removing the phillips crews but not sure where you might find that.... so?
