? about E.S. bushings for Rear Trailing arm/Alignment...
i have had this new set of Energy Suspension Rear Trailing arm bushings for quite some time. i actually bought them before the Prothane style came out awhile back.
so the E.S. ones do NOT have the metal pieces that go through the bushing in order to bolt it to the chassis.
i recently installed a newer Teg rear brake conversion on my EG, but the right trailing arm bushing (the large center one) has a slight tear on the lower half.
everything else looks good, no damage or anything that i can tell. the problem is that i cannot get the alignment set correctly and the steering is pretty crazy because of this. the toe is way out and even the camber is a bit negative just from eyeing the wheel/tire up. i made all kinds of adjustments for the toe and checked it all several times but no go. toe is still wacked for some reason.
i thought maybe one of the arms is bent, or that the slight tear on only the right side trailing arm bushing is causing this problem. i have had much worse tears in my trailing arm bushings in the past w/o any alignment adjustment problems.
so i'm considering using my new E.S. urethane bushings to see if that corrects the problem, but don't know what inserts should be used with them to bolt the arm onto the chassis. i believe the Prothane or other brand comes complete with the metal piece so that i can be pressed in as one unit and easily bolted on. but not with the E.S. i have.
any input on what piece to use with the E.S. bushings would be appreciated.
TIA

You're supposed to reuse your old metal pieces from the stock trailing arm bushings. I believe this involves torching the old bushing rubber out so you can get the shell. Have fun...
