differences in wiring between 88-89 and 90-91 Si's.....
So I just bought a 89 Si harness and I notice that there is a rectangular plug that connects into the drivers side by the resistor box. I do have the correct plug from the 90-91 si and I plan on repinning it since my car is a 90Si but when I plug the new plug up with my harness the wires don't match up in color. As far as colors is there a difference in the 2 harnesses.
One last thing: Since the 88-89 harness doesn't come the pins for the cold air idle valve should I hook it up or not worry about it? From what I've been told it doesn't throw a CEL if it's not hooked up
thanx in advance

So which harness did you buy?? The engine harness? If so the engine harnesses from 88-91 SHOULD be the same?? There are differences on the chassis harness but not the engine harness.
89 Si there the same except the drivers side plug on this harness is different from my 90 Si car plug. The harness has a rectangular shape while my car is circular. I want to know as far as color coding on the 2 plugs from the harness are the same. I have the extra circular plug but when I plugged it in the wires don't match up and I'm concerned about it. Also the 89 harness doesn't have the pins for the cold air idle valve but everything else is the same
Man I wish I could help but in order for me to be able to help you I would have to have the wiring diagrams for the 90 and the 89's I would be able to find out the 90's but I would have no idea about the 89's??
