from what i have heard...
the 86-89 d16a1 franny wont mount into an 88+ civic/crx...without some sort of custom mounts. it will mount into 84-87 though.
also from what i have heard, the 86-89 teg tranny internals will not work inside an 88+ civic/crx tranny casing.
i dont have any personal experience on if any of this will or will not work, but i have just heard that it wont. i also thought that would be a good idea before, i think it was mistabone who said the internals are totally different(i asked on the old d series board).
the trannys are geared as follows:
_86-87 _ 88-89 _ ZC
1 3.181 _ 3.181 _ 3.250
2 1.944 _ 1.944 _ 1.944
3 1.347 _ 1.347 _ 1.346
4 1.033 _ 1.033 _ 1.033
5 0.848 _ 0.823 _ 0.878
F 4.214 _ 4.214 _ 3.888
