11.1 compression enough for toda c or s2s2?
11:1 w/ S2 stg2 (similar specs as Jun 3) is fine. Toda Cs seem to do better with higher compression, and the larger low-cam lobes seem better suited to larger bores, from graphs which i've seen (e.g. sgT's). Toda's rather severe ramp angles and some of the (resultant?) horror stories which i've read here keep me away from them, as do those of seemingly random breakage with S2s. (Omniman used to work for S2, and recommends against them; some might say that he's out to slander his old employer, but i've heard enough tales from folks here and some inside info on reasons- i.e. QC- why they are somewhat likely to break.) mind you, people have broken just about every type of cam (Crower, stock, Jun, etc.), but if the quality of the cores is inconsistent, even if they're installed correctly, rpm, correct spring pressure, belt tension, etc. can be enough to fatigue them to the breaking point at any given time, in which case you'll be lucky to salvage the rest of your build. there are many new cams out which you might also consider: Rocket's ef-1 line, Brad's RLZ cams (MAX_CFM), new IB cams (supposed to be out soon), etc. look around.
I have 11.5:1 compression and Toda B.
I would have gone at least 12:1 compression with my Toda B but I only get 91 octane here in Cali so I went 11.5:1
So I think 11:1 is low for Toda C and recommend trying Toda A.

Toda As are good cams. similar specs to S2 stg 1 and Spoon Sports cams; good cores (both better than S2- Spoon uses Honda blanks, and i think that Toda grinds them to Spoon's specs), grinds, and as far as i've read, Toda is the only company to have different cam specs for cyl 3 which consider that it typically runs hotter than the others, considering the 1,3,4,2 firing order. if you have a 1.8L or larger w/11:1 compression, a good header, and an itr/skunk2 or similar intake manifold w/ a good catback, when properly tuned you can probably hit ~200whp SAE on a DynoJet w/Toda As.

with a 11.1 you would be pushing it, i would recommend nothing less than 11.5 to run either one of those cams, it would just be a waste, if you plan on staying that way just get a's or stage 1's.

would 12.5:1 C/R be decent for Toda C's? right at the moment I'm somewhere around 11.1:1 C/R with my B18c5 motor milled head and mugen headgasket and ofcourse the C's, but I'm wondering if I should be going higher than 12.5:1? I live in Iowa where 93 octane is all over the place, and we even have a couple gas stations around here that sell race fuel at the pumps.
