I would think that lighter cars won't skid as easily and will slow down faster than a heavy car because of less mass.

i thought that light is worse for both. My light civic slides all over the place in the snow when I try to brake.

Greatest winter beater FF car of my life.

86' Saab 900 Turbo like 3800 IBS of pure hulking steel and 195 skinny butt tires.

Best is a heavy car with a narrow footprint tire. It cuts down to the pavement better. The thing was amazing up tell a mini van rear ended me at a stop sign when she was on her cell talking to mom and hit me at 45 mph. Morale of the story the saab drove for another two winters!!!!

Thin footprint tires and light throttle will do you some good regardless of your weight.

heavier is better to stop and go. more weight means more friction/traction.

Don't drive like an idiot and no problems should arise.
