How hard is it to do a valve adjustment on a sohc vtec? I think the motor is sounding kind of valvey (?) and I think it might be time to adjust the valves. The motor has 112k and I have no idea when, if ever, it was done. Are their any special tools required?

Unless you have previous experience I would suggest you take it to someone and watch how they do it.. if you do it wrong then you will have problems in the long run.

but you can find a HELM manual and it will tell you step by step on how to adjust the valves.. the one thing you will need to learn is how to use the feeler gauge, thats something you will have to be taught in person
