Hey guys.. im a newbie to this forum and i got a ticket today. ticket says " PASSING ON RIGHT WHEN UNSAFE " any clue in how much the ticket would be ? thanks alot. BTW this was done on the streets in a business area

 

Sorry to hear that, there should be a number on the ticket (either front or back). Call that number, than go ahead and ask. Be safe

 

Ticket is usually what the cop makes it unless he writes a ridiculous amount.

 

was it unsafe when you was passing on the right? if you dont think it wasnt.. fight it..

 

funny thing was that i was going 80 mph in 35 mph zone swerving in and out of traffic. he only wrote me down for " UNSAFE LANE CHANGE ". thanx for da responses guyz

Seems like he gave you a break. Fighting it, and losing will cost you much more.

hmmm, in ca, cops dont decide how much it is. the court does. unsafe lane change? moving violatioN? probably $100+

 

My friend did the same thing. Last week in Washington. His ticket was $385 but im not sure what the ticket was. But I know he was speeding 25+ over the limit on the left side of the road. You might get it cheaper if it was just an unsafe lane change though.

 

wow pretty expensive ticket.... but i wasnt speeding i was going 20 mph according to the cop in a 35 mph zone when i did this. so it shouldnt be too bad i guess.

wherever i have been. they give you a little sheet of paper that has the different fines for various tickets. gives you an idea of what to pay.

Seriously, that is just plain retarded ESPECIALLY since it was in traffic. Now if it were on an empty road late at night that would be a little different, but what you did was just plain retarded. How old are you now?

 

Wow, you guys are lucky, I got a ticket for 25mph over in Ga....got a speeding and wreckless driving ticket(when you go 25mph over, it is automatically a wreckless driving ticket), lost my license for 6mo and it cost me a total of $1400. Oh yea, it was my first offense ever. I was speeding on Highway 85 northbound, a 6 lane highway, so it wasn't like it was a school zone. **** that cop, I even knew his dad and he still didn't give me a break. 3.5gpa in Mech. Engineering at AU, I guess he thought I was cocky or something....no more speeding for me.

I hate how subjective these sort of tickets can be. Some people's view of unsafe maybe not be for others.
