Default question about sunroof repair...

hey all. one of the rails my sunroof rides on is b0rken. I want to replace it. There aren't any other of my car in my car (1990 CRX Si) junkyard tho. are there any other models with identical sunroof assemblies, or at least just the rails that it slides on? it'd be cool if I could get a glass roof off of an acura...

I need the ones on the car, not the ones on the sliding section. am I making sense?

You'll probably have to find a whole new tray assembly. Are you talking about the rails that are bolted to the roof panel, or the rails that are in the tray (you can see them from outside the car, looking down on the sunroof when it's open)?

I go to a pick-apart yard. it's 30 bucks for all-you-can-carry. candy store style. you go in with tools, take whatever the hell you want, and as long as you can carry it across the line it's 30 bucks. 40 bucks if you have to drag it. it's great for piecing together a turbo kit or getting random bits n pieces that'd normally cost a bunch.

BUT... I took apart most of the roof assembly and found the issue. there's a white plastic widget on the driver's side rail that makes it go up and down when the motor goes in and out. basically it's what makes the back of the roof on the driver's side pop up. the widget is broken, so I need to see if other sunroof assemblies have it. it seems like the sort of part that might be used in several different sunroofs. I'll let you guys know how it turns out in case other people might have issues with their sunroof not popping up even though the motor works.

dang wish i had a junkyard like that here.. only thing i have close to that is.. a dollar to get in.. and then pull what u want.. and see the price list to see how much it costs.. most parts are very cheap and they even offer a 30 day warrenty, if the part fails they give u another one free. But they don't let u take apart alot of things.. if you do u gotta buy it.
oh and if you try and jack ****.. they got cops with metal detectors waiting outside.. it sucks

Hehe, never seen the cops with the metal detectors at Pick-N-Pull, they hardly ever have anything for CRXs anyways.

Totally off subject, but free bump.
