Default Mounting slicks and other questions...

Are slicks mounted just like regular street tires? Or are there anything else "special" you need to do when mounting? Should I use stick-on wheel weights instead of the ones that go on the lip of the wheel? I have a pair of 20x6x14 and am going to mount them on some 14x5.5 stock Integra wheels.

I'm going to use them on my stock 96 GS-R. I just have a shortram intake and an Exedy Organic clutch in it right now. What psi and launch rpms should I start at? Thanks.

Hi (96dc2) and to answer your ? Yes you need to balance and I would use the stick-on type wheel weight. Now on the psi, you would have to talk to a M/T rep.

Good Luck

I ran the 20/8/14's there pretty good starter slick can't really go down on the psi cause of the side wall. I would run 12-14 psi. Those slicks will make your gear ratio shorter too. Rob

14 psi warm on the 20x6x14 MT's with a 14x5.5 steelie.

Set you slicks at 12 psi STONE COLD before first burnout. Use the first pass to get a feel for the track. After that you want 14 psi just before you enter the burnout box.

Being an average driver, and first time slick user, what 60' would you guys expect? Oh yeah my Integra weighs 2627 lbs, full interior, quarter tank gas. Plus me 155 lbs, that's 2782 total.

1.99-2.05 if you nail a perfect launch and don't over power the slicks.

Try 5000/5500/6000 rpm launches the see what the slicks will handle. You want them to just barely spin. They will GROWL at you when you nail the launch.
