Default NASA-X in Richmond

After a one year hiatus we're resurrecting the NASA-VA autocross program. Our next event will be November 15th at Cloverleaf Mall in Richmond. We'll be running a new experimental format at this autocross where:

-each run is two laps
-we will be running the Nasa-X classing structure
-in the morning (9am - 1:15 pm) competitors will have open practice where they can get in as many practice runs as they like
-timed runs will begin at 1:30 where each competitor will get 2, 2-lap runs

More details and online pre-registration

Good to see NASA back in town. I'm a little disappointed to see the new classing structure though, if I were running for trophies, it would be enough to keep me home.

MR2 Spyder against a Type R, and the Type R has a points handicap, LOL...

Edit: Can cars 15+ years old compete, it doesn't appear that any actually are classed (for example, a '73 Celica).

Yeah there are several shortcomings to the NASA-X rules. The upside is that they're a lot simpler but I imagine that when we have a points championship we will go with the SCCA Solo II structure unless the NASA national formula gets refined a bit.

I like the classing system. It looks like I'll be put at a lower level than I would be at other events. At the vmsc event at cloverleaf I went to last time they put me in street prepared or some high class because I had a gutted rear interior, no power steering, no cat, etc..

It favors us Hondas very nicely it seems. Hell, I'm usually in Street Mod but with the NASA classing I'm in Group F.
