Default My car keeps overheating, and I don't know why.

I've got a problem keeping my car at normal temps. When I take it to highway speeds, the temp goes way too high, but as soon as I slow down, the temp will come back down. However, it still runs hot when around town. I just put a new head gasket in it because it was burning antifreeze, however it still burns a little antifreeze even after hot torquing and cold torquing the head twice. The engine light also comes on just before the temp rises too high. It'll go through watter too, but the oil is not milky. I'm just wondering if anyone knows what could be making it overheat. Water pump?
On another front, would anyone know why my ECU would flash more than 20 times? Also, how many seconds are there in between flashes in a code? Mine is flashing about every 8 seconds, but it will flash until I can't count anymore. Is that a code 1? Possibly an ECU problem? Cheers.

overheating could be a lot of different things, but from what you are describing it sounds to me like your water pump is shot.

well, did you get the head planed and checked for warpage? Sounds like your head is warped to me.

if your timing is retarded more than 3 deg it could overheat also, so check your timing if all else fails.
