Default airbag help!

well it was raining tonight and i was going down a curve onto the highway.. and the rear of my car gives out.. i go over a curb.. and the airbags popped out.. absolutely zero body damage except for the window and windshield breaking from the passenger airbag going off...

what parts do i need to fix the airbags?? i know the driver and passenger airbags.. but what else? any idea of the costs? installation??

any help is appreciated.. thanks.

They are easy to install mine was popped out and I just went to the bone yard and got a new one they bolt right in if you take your glove box out. If i were you I would just put a jdm coin tray in place of it just a suggestion. Oh and you will have to either reset it or have it reset.

To remove the passenger side airbag (on a 98 civic), you just pop it out? My friend has the JDM tray thing, but dont know how to take off the airbag

The driver side has 2 star bolts and the passenger has 3 10mm nuts on 96+ and 4 10 mm nuts on 92-95.. The driver side on both is a peice of cake, the passenger on 92-95 is a bitch because its hard to get anything to the back left hand corner nut, but the 96+ is easy.. You'll also need a new brain, its located on the floorboard in the middle of the car right behind the dash

its really simple, take off the glove box, there will be 3 10mm nuts holding the airbag on it on, undo those and the plug and pop it out, its kinda difficult to pop it out you just have to work at it a little.. im gonna be taking one out of a car tomorrow, I'll see if i can take some pics for you

Can you tell me where all 3 bolts are? I know there are 2 that kinda face down towards you... but how about the 3rd? Are those the only 3 10mm bolts under there?

the 3 bolts are kinda like this.. the 2 in bold are probably the 2 you can and then the other nut is kinda toward the bottom of the airbag unit almost facing down ward

After I get all 3 bolts off, do I just pry the airbag off, from the top of the dash? Or should I push out from the bottom of the airbag?

both, there inst a specific way to get it off, try first by pushing it out from the bottom then once you cant get it anymore try and either pull it out of the top with your hands or use something like a screw driver to pry it out, dont do it too hard because you might damage the cover

Much thanks for the info bro... BTW, the reason Im taking off her airbag is to install her JDM tray thingy she got. Is there a way to remove just the cover? Also, she got into an accident back then, so the cover is already f'ed up

sence your airbags blew i suggest you change the SRS computer with the air bags .... better safe then sorry that is the norm when you repair collision damage
