Default Need help with my CRX

Ok guys here my problem. My tach is not tight. What I mean is that when i rev my car. The tach goes up and down pretty fast but not at an even pace. It just slingshots back and forth. What the hell can I do about that.
Also my other problem is that my speedometer doesn't work. What should I check for first to get it working????
Thanks for your help guys.
By the way, this is on my 88CRX Si.

I dunno If this will help But i had a similar Problem with my 88 CRX. The Tach started to Jump around unevenly and i ignored it. then later on in the same day it stopped all together. i took the cap off distributor and found one of the wire fell off the Ignition module. Might be worth givin it a look. Hope this Help

For you tach it's probably something to do with you ignitor. Either what the other guy said or it's going bad. As far as the speedo, check to make sure the VSS cable is plugged firmly into the back of the cluster and the VSS.

So is the ignitor inside the distributor cap?? What's the VSS?

Ignitor is inside the distributor. The VSS is the vehicle speed sensor.

check that your speedo cable is fully inserted into your trans. It could be possible that the cable is broken.

Is there anywhere else I should look regarding the speedometer?
And for the Tach, just look in the distributor and make sure all the wires are connected?

make sure the wires on your igniter are tight. I usually pull off the connectors and squeeze them with needle nosed pliers.
