Running without Rear O2 sensor
Can the rear O2 sensor be unpluged and removed completely without any side effects? I've already got a CEL from my resonated test pipe, but the rear O2 sensor is a bit too close to the heat shield and is rattling (driving me nuts). I'm planning on going ODBI soon anyway which will get rid of that CEL. If I just plug the bung and remove the second O2 is that going to cause anything other then than the CEL i've already got?
Nope, it shouldn't. The one on the cat doesn't make any difference. I'm not sure about unplugging the one on the header. I left the cat one plugged in and took it out and ziptied it wrapped in foil to my shift linkage. No CEL for over a year now.
how did you not get a check engine light with your secondary o2 out of the exhaust?
is this normal?
i just got an o2 simulator from caspers and it doesnt work at all, infact it caused more codes. And they charged me 90 bucks for it which is 40 more than they said it would cost and it required dremeling the connectors to make them work.
Any solution to get rid of this CEL is awesome especially if its as simple as removing it.

Unplugging it will cause 2, maybe 3 additional codes. All the S02S codes will be active. Pulling it out of the testpipe, wrapping it in foil and ziptieing it to the linkage, pulling it into the cab, etc will work fine though as long as you plug the bung in the test pipe.
Code 67 itself wont cause any problems unless you hate the CEL. In my case, I just removed the CEL bulb.

It throws a CEL 67 if the readings of the PO2S and the SO2S don't vary enough because the ECU therefore believes that the cat is bad/not functioning properly. Removing it from the exhaust stream will cause a different voltage compared to the PO2S and therefore should not throw a code, although it might every once in awhile.

I ran a few drag runs with my header unbolted, and there was no sign of the check engine light whatsoever... Although driving on the street might be different.

I have a test pipe without a hole for the O2 sensor. All I did was pull the O2 sensor into my interior. I then wrapped the O2 sensor in aluminum foil and electric tape and zip tied it inside, so it doesn't flop around. I don't have a CEL. (I don't have an interior because it is a stripped race car. I am not sure what you can do to plug the hole so water doesn't come up inside. I am not concerned about the water issue.)

lost regarding what part? I'll try to explain just not sure where you got lost.
