question for 00 gsr's with VAFC
ok i have had my VAFC in my car for quite some time now, it seems that when i ever i play with my fuel at all i am talking even move it up a point or 2 the darn check engine light comes on and i pull a code 45 which is running to lean or rich.
at this moment i dont really need the extra fuel but there will be a time in the very near future that i will need more what should i do? swap to an obd 1 jumper and ECU?
thanx

Import Tuner had the same problem with a 1998 GSR. They ended up taking the VAFC out completely. Try to sell it, and get a fuel pressure regulator.

I have a '99 and have not had that problem. The only time I threw a too rich/lean code was after I installed CTR cams and found my timing was advanced too far. After I adjusted it to 18 degrees it has been fine ever since. Hope this helps.
A VAFC is not very reliable for richening. Here's a thread that goes over that issue if you're curious why: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=59518 I use a FPR to richen and a VAFC to lean out the areas necessary.
An ECU for your setup is the ultimate solution because you can also raise the rev limit and edit your timing curves as well. I plan to do this next, but even then I'll use my VAFC to lean out where necessary as each engine is different and I plan to run the Skunk2 program.
