Erik's racing...no longer fastest all motor honda...
well, it's official...Leslie Durst broke Erik Aguilar's 10 second run this weekend. Leslie ran an amazing 9.93 in a crx chassis in pomona with a Natural Aspirated motor. i saw the run in person and for those who were there, back me up on this one
i can't remember her trap speed...didn't pay attention to her mph. her 60' is probably something like 1.5 sec or less
not a bad run and a most excellent driver
just wanted to share some new info with ht.com

I'm bummed that i didn't go back Sunday to get a chance to see her 9.93 run. But I did see her Qualifying run of 10.0 on her first qualifying or 2nd round of qualifying, which was a beautiful site. I'll try to upload a clip of the 10.0 run...but of course it isn't as memorable as a 9sec run
I am sure Erick has something up his sleeve for 2004,No one likes getting beat by a girl..
Props to both Leslie & erick and there teams for the great efforts this season

Congrats to Leslie Durst! Thats really quite remarkable.
Dont forget about bisi though!
I think if he can get one good run you all will be very suprised at what F series and bisi can really do!
But again congrats in a big way to To Durst's Team

Congrats to Leslie! It was bound to happen sooner or later. The all motor crowd has stepped it up a notch. Leslie's record won't last for long, they just keep getting faster.

couldn't have said it any better that that.
What is even more impressive is that she does this out-of-pocket, no sponsors. (correct me if im wrong.) Gotta give credit where its due.
AGAIN - does anyone know setup she is running??

any all motor set up running 9's gets mad respect from me. extremely nice run. that 123 MPH is just insane running all motor
Yeah, that extra 25 lbs will make all the difference
Erick ran his 9 on gas and there is another 20-30 hp on the methanol. If he can make the CRX chassis work he'll gain time from his previous best. Should be a dogfight next year.
Many congrats to Leslie and to JG for making a big comeback (JG was apparently a big player in that motor combination).

oh yea...erik was there with his new green CRX with 'stock' GSR motor...got to the line, started to rev the motor, popped the clutch....broke an axle....never got to run
i don't think he brought an extra axle with him at the track...i don't remember seeing him on sunday...he broke his axle on saturday afternoon...wow...i got pics of his crx and the motor. i think the whole car weighs in at like 1800 lbs. with him in it

I believe the girl is running a ls/vtec I read that somewhere in ricer magazine. It had here whole setup I'll see if I can find it.
Erick broke on the line on his first run. The motor was the same build (different motor, but same parts list) that went 9.99 in the coupe. However, he has switched engine management and was running on methanol for the first time. The CRX weighed a little more than the coupe did, but was more aerodynamic. Combined with the additional power from the meth he was hoping to go faster. Unfortunately for him, that was the first pass the car had seen, and you know what the racing gods say about not testing before a big event
