gardellas crash
thanks for all the support guys. garys crash looked pretty bad, but thanks to a great chassis and the hans device gary was alright and will be here shortly to tell about it.
rob from z10, i dont appreciate you spreading propoganda about **** you know nothing about.
if you've never built a quick 8 car or have any clue about race car suspension dont try and speculate as to why garys car crashed, because we have talented builders working on the car.
that car was setup 100% and never had any problems getting down the track straight.

Instead of hiding the car, Gary left it in the pits all day Sunday for everyone to see. I thought that was a pretty classy thing to do. I met Jay and John from Gary's crew and they were good guys. Gary was interviewed on the public address system and he was talking about a 2 car team for next year with neither car being driven by him.
until gargella or someone else from the camp steps up and says what really happened, peoples mouths are gonna run on and on. this whole " i just got outa the grove" dosent make a lot of sense to a simpleton like myself.
i was there and watched the crash, and then walked over and saw the car in person.car looked AWSOME for a 145mph crash. i was way impressed.
what i didnt like was all the negativity from all the people around the car(spectators). its funny to hear people say to gary"sorry about the crash, glad your OK" and then turn and whisper to their friend " he fucked up,that cars not built right" or the chute wasnt packed correctly and threw him into the wall" or "his left brake failed and sent him spinning". I musta heard 10 different THEORIES on what happend, mostly from people with 14second cars at best, and its funny that those people tend to talk the most and the loudest for anyone to listen.
we look forward to hearing the truth.

That is so true soakit, I am sure that there were alot of rumors about what happened. How could have the chute cause it, because didn't he go sideways before the finish? I wasn't there but that is what it sounded like. Anyways, I Gary can explain what happened. Good luck to Gary in the off season and next year.

Gary, and his crew have been racing for years, they had bad luck they will bounce back, obviously the car was built right, gary walked away. Jason

I happened to have the best view of the crash... We were towing Jeremy back and we were on the return road a bout 100 feet from the finsih line... we stopped the car to watch Garys run because he was on a bullet!
I will let Gary say what happend but the car was definately sideways a good 40 or 50 feet before the traps...

someone else that had an excelent view would be kenny tran. since he was trailing behind and still lost the race he saw it all as well. maybe TONY1 can shed some insight.
gary was definatly on his way to what looked like an 8.4 or 8.5 probably in the 170 range when something caused him to hit the brakes hard.
from my view, it looked like something caused him to bank right, then correct back left, but maybe over corrected? and then again to re-correct right again, and lost control hit the right wall and make a perfect 270 and then continue going straight down the track. looked like he jumped outa the car as soon as it came to a stop as well, letting everyone know he was OK.

Rumors will continue to fly until next season actually starts. All people do is talk...Theres never any truth to 80% of it. In any event. DO NOT look for Gary to step out anytime soon. If any of you know him, you know he will be back, and badder then ever.
i've seen the car go 8.45 and the car went stright down the track and if you have ever gone fast down the track you will know what happens when you get out of the grove. It can get ugly fast!
dont worry every time out to the track is a learning experience for us so we're gonna use this to improve on our already proven setup.
we dont have any pictures but im sure urbanracer and a few others will be posting shortly.

OK Care to explain yourself???? I wasnt in California ! , and didnt say anything anywheres about garys car..
So first off where is this coming from ? Second off I have Jimmy from Z10 who was in California standing right next to me.. We just got off the phone a few hours ago with Gary. He has no clue what your talking about. Jimmy has known Gary SR for over 10 years and also is personal friends with the chassis designer / builder for Gary. So those comments are bogus and never were said. We have a good relationship with Gardella racing and plan to do some stuff for them in the future.

He said, she said, they said, we said. What are we? In HIGH SCHOOL? Gary raced. Gary crashed. Gary's ok. We're all glad of this, but sometimes Honda-Tech looks like a bad teen TV show that's soon to be cancelled. It seems like some of us are on here just to be part of a dispute. Without saying we should "grow up".... Let's try to act a little....."older".
