Default Should I be concerned??? Knowledge needed!

The other day I hit the rev limit quite unexpectedly and afterwards the valve train sounded a little louder and somewhat not as crisp as it usually does. It also doesnt seem quite as responsive in the mid range as i reckon she used to.

Its only the 3rd time ive hit it since new and its now got 28000 km's.

Am I being paranoid or does the above seem like something could have happened. Ive such things as bent valves or f####ed up valve springs happening. Should this be a concern for me. She still idles smoothly and revs right through the rpm range.

Maybe I am being paranoid, is my minds playing tricks, or maybe i just need some reassurance from some one who knows what their talking about.......

So.......Does anyone know what their talking about and give some advise if it is anything i should worry about.

You should be fine....the R is able to take up to 9k rpms for a short period of time without damage. If you are the stock rev limit, and didn't bounce for more a few seconds you should be ok. If you had bent valves, your engine would be ticking and losing compression. If you are positive that you are losing power, you may have slipped your timing belt. Have a look.

If you're really worried, do a compession check.

Was this a missed shift or did you wait too long to shift in a particular gear?
