y7 y8 mini me oil pressure question

Default y7 y8 mini me oil pressure question

hey im going to be doing a mini me on my y7 soon and i have heard mixed things on how to get oil pressure for vtec. i have heard to take out the oil control jet. i have also heard i need to tap an oil line in my head, also i have heard all i need to get is a bigger oil pump. Which one is right? thanks

none. I don't believe the 96-00 blocks have oil jets. You just put the new head on, and wire everything up.

well i just looked at my Y7 block, on a stand on my patio,, there is no oil control jet. In the Y7-Y8 its in the head, not the block.

well if you look between cylinders 2 and 3 its in the oil passage that runs from the block, to the head

the oil control jet is in the non-vtec block, and in the v-tec head so if there is two of them then you will have a oil pressure problem.
- take the oil control jet out of the d15b7 block and leave the v-tec head alone.

assuming you have a d15b7 block.

And for SpoonPoon, I don't actually have the Y7 nor have I ever worked on one, so I don't know about the oil jet. But, I do trust infinatenexus because he had an all motor Y7 that ran 14's...so i'd believe anything he says
