Default Some things I learned from the B18A swap I just did in my CRX

I just spent the weekend putting a B18A into my 91 CRX Si. Hopefully my experience will help someone else out there looking to do the same thing. Here's what I learned in no particular order:

1. Hasport motor mounts are VERY firm, but VERY nice (if you have fillings in your teeth, they may vibrate out).
2. 89 Integra axles worked perfectly with a 90-93 teg intermediate shaft (no spacer removed from the hub, no binding - do this at your own risk - I'm experimenting).
3. Your hood will rub the valve cover. Get ready to notch.
4. DC JDM 4-1 1-piece headers will not fit with the stock crossmember.
5. DC front strut tower bars won't fit any more (they hit the intake mani).
6. A PM6 ECU will control the B18A (of course the PR4 is better) when you got an automatic ECU with your engine and didn't know it until it was too late.
7. Use the Integra throttle cable.
8. Use the Integra fuel line (the one that goes from the fuel filter to the fuel rail).
9. Integra radiator hoses have to be used, but they are too big of a diameter for the CRX radiator fittings. Solution? Cut a piece of the original CRX radiator hose and fit it inside of the Teg hose. Then clamp that sucker down.
10. Take your time. Stop and have a .
11. BUY A HELMS!

Hopefully this will help someone else out. I was fortunate enough to have other cars/engines/people around for good references. Good luck with your swap!

just to add.. i too have done a b18a1 swap into an EF, though it be hatch.

I used the original CRX HF throttle cable that i put in my car when i did my MPFI conversion way back.

I used the original CRX HF fuel line that i put in my car way back.

I used both integra radiator hoses and just got clamps that would tighten down further.

with HCP mounts, there is no vibration and the b18a1 doesnt hit the hood.

The best thing to do with this is put a 90-93 integra rad in... bolt in exactly the same... is dual core... and has the inlet and outlet for the rad hoses are the right diameter for the B series rad hoses

I think it would be better to get the lower, firmer mounts, and just get a ZC hood, no worries
