Default voltage regulator or alternator belt?

my alternator output warning light or whatever it is has been coming on lately. it doesn't come on full brightness, or stay on. it only flickers on at higher rpms, regardless of the electrical load i'm running. my lights are just as bright as they always are, my stereo doesn't shut off, i don't have any symptoms of the alternator going out, except for the occasional light. i don't hear the belt slipping, but the tensioner bolt is almost all the way at the back of the slot, and the tension on the belt seems good. i have no idea how old the belt is, but the alternator is right at a year old. anyone ever had this problem before?

Sounds like the brushes on the alternator are not contacting very good. May just need another new alternator. Unless the belt is like falling off
