My friend gave me a little neon and I want to put it where the light shows on the pedals... well (im noob) I look up under there (above the pedals) and theres a million and one wires.. I have no idea which one to hook up too and my friends bro said that I would need a switch(where can i get one ? )

You can get a switch from any electronics store. The wires that are under there should not be messed with. You basically need 3 wires: Positive, Negative, and ground. The easiest/messiest way to do it would be to run wires from the switch to battery and find a ground somewhere. Someone else could probably give a better suggestion though.

the stock radio (for 4th gen at least) had a wire for lights, almost all aftermarket radios light up all the time and do not need this light wire so if you have an aftermarket radio, u can just use that wire so when u turn on the lights the neon will light up since ur only gonna use it at nite, thats how i did my gauges, if u dont have an aftermarket radio, u still could just tap into that wire, but i dunno if that would be suckin too much juice and melt the wire, i dunno enough bout wire size and all that....
I believe you're talking about the dimmer wire. that'd work.....the other option is to get a switch at rat shack, and install that in a location of your choosing, and run a wire from the battery or whatever other power source is closest and that you can tap safely.

if you tap into the dimmer switch the neon thing will turn on with your headlights, you can also hook up a switch inbetween the dimmer wire and the neon so you can still turn it off at night if you arent in the disco inferno mood.
