Squeeking near belts at idle
So I was checking out the wifes car the other day, and I hear squeeking sound coming from the side of the engine near where the belts are. It doesn't sound like the belts themselves, but something on that side of the motor for sure. I could only hear it at idle when I am under the hood of the car, I can't hear when I am inside the car. Is it possible that there are some bearings on the tensioner or one of the pumps going bad? Or is this sound the first sign that I am about to lose a belt?

I'm not sure what it could be... but when I hear a squeeking... I usually spray some belt ease on there... I say try that... if it doesn't do it, then it's probably a bearing/pulley of some sort.
To check tensioner do this.. go and open the hood listen to the noise now slowly turn up the throttle by pulling on the cable and see if the noise either goes away or get louder..
then get back to us
then get back to us
