Default bad fuel pump?

This problem just started just a few days ago. The car started skipping, and i mean shutting down skipping but the power wasn't cutting out. At first I thought ground/battery strap but no all my big grouds are secure and the power isn't shutting off. Then I noticed that when going around corners I was getting a little electrial popping noise down in my underdash fuse box region. So I let the car idle and wiggled all my conections and fuses, nothing. Then I ran the car down the block and pulled a hard right hander and the car died. I tried starting it but no good it would just crank. Then I noticed that I could hear the pump fluttering away. I figure the sound was eminating up through the fuel lines but is there a relay in the drivers footwell that might be bad or could it be the pump. I let the car site for 1/2 hour and then it fired and I drove home. Stumped help is appreciated. BTW thsi is a 95 cx with a d16z6 swapped in. Did I kill my pump with the hotter engine?

If you turn the key in the on position and listen underneath the rear seat, you should hear the fuel pump click on and then off. I would start with that.

Yes there is a relay in the corner of the dash on the drive's side.

For an older Honda I would not consider it such a rare problem. My 90 hb has an issue similar to yours occasionally, but I have yet to determine the exact problem.

The interior fuse panel is under the steering wheel to the left a little bit.
