how do you check the engine codes for a d16y7?? its a 96 4 door civic dx. check engine light came on and now she's giving me problems.

It's up under the dash on the passenger side. A green cover over a green or blue plug (can't remember right off the top of my head). Just use a paperclip to jump the connector (while the car is off) and then turn the key to the ON position. Slow blinks are 10s, fast blinks are 1s. Search and you will find TONS of info on this.
