Well, I know everyone is wanting to see these so for the people who can't log onto NHRA's web site here you go. Post them as you get them:
Here is the first one:
All motor, first round:
POMONA, Calif. - SCS 10 - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Honda Tuning Magazine All Motor at the NHRA Summit Sport Compact Drag Racing Series, Mazda NHRA Sport Compact World Finals Presented by Toyo Tires listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Eric Cardines No Time, Now #2
Right Lane: Ken Scheepers Runs 10.410/128.09, Now #1
12:00 PM Scheepers lost his points lead in Englishtown, this race will decide who's the champion in the All Motor class. Cardines broke right at the tree, the car moved just a few inches. Nice lap for Scheeper's, the Mazda will have something to tune with for round two.
Left Lane: Reid Henry Runs 11.929/114.12, Now #2
Right Lane: Danny Tran Runs 11.996/115.99, Now #3
Both cars labored at the start, the sun has come out from the big Fontana fire about fifteen miles from here.
Left Lane: Norris Prayoonto Runs 10.533/128.40, Now #2
Right Lane: Justin Verches Runs 11.024/120.57, Now #3
Left Lane: Max J Ha Runs 11.549/116.51, Now #5
Right Lane: Jeremy Lookofsky Runs 10.908/124.12, Now #3

Left Lane: Doug Jenkins Runs 12.169/115.29, Now #9
Right Lane: Tom Fukita Runs 11.391/121.08, Now #5
Right Lane: Leslie Durst Runs 10.001/134.44, Now #1
WOW!!!!!! Durst just missed the first nine in the history of all motor. Lelie had a cloud of smoke come out the back of her Purple Honda at the finish line, that may have been a nine if the motor hadn't had a problem of some kind at the top end.
The track is clear, we're moving on to the next pair.
Left Lane: Aaron Schley Runs 11.713/90.41, Now #9
Right Lane: Runs 10.261/132.13, Now #2
Aaron Schley is running in All Motor for the first time, but the Schley family is legend in Sport Compact Racing. Years ago the Schley family ran a VW Beetle, they have had a lot of success here at Pomona over the last two decades.
No tech card is in yet for number 4882, but his run launches him to the number two spot, a long way down from Leslie Durst's 10.001...
Right Lane: Shaun Geers Runs 10.403/127.91, Now #3
Shaun has set numerous records racing this vintage beetle over the years, this lap was right down the middle of the lane, good enough for the number three spot.
Left Lane: Heather O'Conner Runs 11.326/116.89, Now #8
Right Lane: Mike Escamilla Runs 11.582/98.84, Now #11
The field is already starting to look like the quickest ever in All Motor...
Left Lane: Larry Kelley Runs 12.638/89.56, Now #17
Right Lane: Nick Novak Runs 11.676/116.12, Now #12
Kelley's bug was a little off pace, he'll set our number 17 spot.
Left Lane: Lance Grimsley Runs 11.769/111.44, Now #14
Left Lane: Scott Kelly Runs 11.286/95.36, Now #9
Right Lane: Scott Mohler Runs 10.218/135.25, Now #2
Scott won the last All Motor event in California, that big win came in Sonoma with the Toyo Bullet.
Looks like Kelly may have lost fourth gear, the car suddenly slowed at the last gear shift.
Round one is in the books, we missed a nine second run by the shortest of margins, everyone is really excited for round two in a couple of hours! 12:17 PM

Kenny switched back to goodyears? On the other hand, congrats Sav keep chipping away at the eights man.-pdang
Go Sav, 8.8 that is awesome. Looks like there will be some good times this weekend. The way it reads Angela broke on that awesome pass. So hopefully she'll get it back together. And Erick is doing good in the new ride.
8.80 is awesome for SAV, go East Coast!
What is up with Gary, time to start the cheer!!!
I will be stuck looking back and forth now to see who does what. Modified and FWD are next, come on, lets see a 7! I want a 7! Lucky 7's!

Results for Qualifying Round
POMONA, Calif. - SCS 10 - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Modified at the NHRA Summit Sport Compact Drag Racing Series, Mazda NHRA Sport Compact World Finals Presented by Toyo Tires listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Ray Lochhead Runs 8.394/162.60, Now #1
Right Lane: Rene Franco Runs 9.196/148.39, Now #2
12:32 PM Lochhead got over near the centerline, but never lifted.
Left Lane: Vinny Ten Runs 7.871/173.64, Now #1
Right Lane: Paul Efantis Runs 9.428/165.50, Now #4
Ten's run got very exciting in the shutdown area, Ten got over in the right lane, and spun the car out before going into the sand traps. He may have the first seven second drifter car in Sport Compact history. He's OK, the car is OK, we're down for a minute to clear the top end of the track.
Left Lane: Joe Morgan Runs 16.109/51.69, Now #6
Right Lane: Jimmy O'Connor Runs 8.226/158.87, Now #2
Morgan's yellow Focus is sporting a 2.2 litre Turbo monster motor, this car is pretty cool. This car can fly, as the engines have had many years of development in the mini hydro boat racing world.
Morgan had problems early, then smoke starting coming out the side windows and rear of his Focus. O'Connor's Supra had the quickest 60-foot of the session (so far).
Right Lane: unknown Runs 11.601/105.99, Now #6
After a massively high RPM burnout, the silver R100 moves into the beams. We don't have a tech card on this driver yet... 12:52 PM

Right Lane: Nelson Hoyos Runs 12.011/113.20, Now #1

Left Lane: Lisa Kubo Runs 8.521/159.68, Now #1
Right Lane: Jerold Rhodes Runs 20.173/49.19, Now #4
Kubo spun the tires hard at the start, then drifted over towards the wall on the first couple of gear changes. Rhodes had problems at the top end, the reason not clear from this vantage point.
Left Lane: Christian Rado Runs 8.811/124.72, Now #3
Right Lane: Shaun Carlson Runs 8.451/173.84, Now #1

PRO RWD:
POMONA, Calif. - SCS 10 - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro RWD at the NHRA Summit Sport Compact Drag Racing Series, Mazda NHRA Sport Compact World Finals Presented by Toyo Tires listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Craig Paisley No Time, Now #2
Right Lane: Manny Cruz Runs 8.002/167.19, Now #1
Paisley launched hard, then a huge cloud of smoke came pouring out the turbo exhaust. It looked like Craig may have blown the seals out of the huge Turbo. We're down for a short cleanup.
Left Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 7.172/189.75, Now #2
Right Lane: Matt Scranton Runs 7.044/188.44, Now #1
Matt said the team will be racing with two cars next year, they are looking for some more sponsorship to help, but Turbonetics and TRD will be on board with both cars. Nice lap for both drivers, the teams are happy with these runs.
Left Lane: Abel Ibarra Runs 7.065/192.30, Now #2
Right Lane: Stephan PapadakisRuns 12.679/70.68, Now #5
Papadakis blew the tires off at the hit, then the car made a big move towards the right side wall. He wisely lifted off the loud pedal and coasted the rest of the way.
Ibarra will have a full day, tonight his R100 Mazda will be the first sport compact racecar inducted into the NHRA Museum at 6-9 PM.
Left Lane: Hiroshi Shiobara Runs 9.489/108.30, Now #6

Ara lays down the first six of the weekend...
Left Lane: George Ioannou Runs 6.778/206.70, Now #1
WOW! That is good enough for new records in both ET and speed. His 1.096 60-foot time had everyone in the tower holding their breath, we all knew the Clifton New Jersey driver was "on-a-pass". 1:12 PM

I just called up my cousin for updates, Gardella hit the wall. Off topic: Ricky delaCruz 9.2x @ 150 mph, GO Ricky !!!
I just talked to my friend JR who is on Garys crew this weekend and Gary crashed in the 3rd qualifier..... Gary is ok but the car is pretty hurt.... my friend he's calling me later when he gets a chance to talk
so what happened to the rest of qualifying? I can only see till hot rod round 2...anyone else hear it might be cancelled tomorrow?
they already had the 3rd round of qualifying more than an hour ago. They just haven't updated the site. Who told u it might be cancelled tomm. ?
