Default Would this paint flake off?

I just got an Intake and its Chrome, I want eveything in my engine bay to kinda stay hidden and black. I'm wondering, if I started with an 80 grit, went to a 240 grit and then spraypainted it flat black, if I did a pretty good job with it, would the paint flake off later on anyway?

Well, actually, do you guys think I really should, I mean black does absorb heat better. Or do you think it would even matter? Because the intake is almost directly over one of my heads anyway...

i paint cars. finish with a 600 grit sandpaper as it ussually promotes best adhesion of the paint. just use high temp paint for barbeque's you can find it at ace hardware etc.

also, it shouldnt matter that it is black, because its not like the sun is shining down on your intake tube while you are racing and your hoods closed
