Anyone take a look at the latest issue of Sport Compact Car? They reveiw 70 plus seats and there is a nice looking carbon shell seat from vis racing. It supposedly costs $399 and weighs 13lbs. I don't have the issue, and I can't find any other info on this seat from web searches or from visracing.com

 

go to the power house section from vis's site. then do a search for "seat" and you'll see pics and info on the CF seat your referring to.

i wouldn't suggest that seat for daily driving though. imagine hitting little bumps all the time with a stiffened suspension with no padding on the seat. also, i don't think its FIA approved, so i'm pretty sure you can't even use it when racing.

 

Thanks for the link. The seat looks nice, all you need is some foam inserts.
