I need a header for my ep3
I have heard that there is a recall on the DC header for the ep3. I just bought the injen CAI for my ep3 and the next thing I want to get is the DC header but I have heard that there are issues with welds cracking or splitting. Truth to this? If that is the case what are my other header options?
Now, how is it I can tell the difference visually between the ones with the weld problems and the ones that do not? How much for your header?

Yes, just make sure when you buy one to ask if it is the second version with the new welds.

anyone know of any company coming out with a header that will replace the factory down pipe, but keep the cat? I want to stay legal.
I'm not really sure what to do for a header...I'm not a fan of the shorty headers...they don't offer as good gains. The comptech race is quite expensive and has no options for putting a cat in. The Jackson one has an option for putting in a hi-flow cat, but I hear many people still get CEL's after doing so on their RSX, not to mention a few people on EPhatch have had horrible experiences with JR. The Borla requires cutting of the downpipe/welding and everyone has problems with those things.
That doesn't leave too many companies....my ideal header would be something of comptech quality but a "long-tube" that would retain the catalytic converter...ala all the b-series headers. Which leads me to wonder...WHY IS IT SO HARD TO MAKE A HEADER WITH A DOWNPIPE WHILE KEEPING THE CAT????

im always down to "kill the cat". with this, very pricey im gonna assume, header i would be able to keep my stock cc. i wonder how much this system is and if there are any others on the market that are set-up this way. i have seen the one piece headers that eliminate the cat but..... in theory you could slap the cat on without removing the header and the smog guy would probably not even notice; you think?

Is this actually available, though? I know the S/C kit won't be out for
(supposedly) another 2 weeks...
Comptech also makes a couple headers for the Si - a race version (I think you
have to replace the cat as it includes part of the downpipe) and a non-race version.
