my b18c is running good now. but the problem is that the tach is jumping like crazy and jumping quick. but the engine idles. its not controlling the motor. can anyone help me on this?

 

Make sure that the wires that are connected to the coil inside the dist are tight. My firend had the same problem. Another thing but it is not that common on the C5 is that the Cam seal may be leaking and oil may be getting into the distributor.

I would check the coil wires that is most likely what it is.

do you have a msd box if so the tach must be hooked up to it

 

no msd box. its a jdm gsr.

 

Sounds like a charge issue.

check your grounding, your battery and your alternator

 

sounds like it may be a short somewhere.
also, check your fuses just in case

 

your igniter is about to go. check that

 

Where did you hook your tach up to, and what type of tach?

as he said, usually a warning sign the igniter is about gone, but its also commonly shitty engine -&gt; chassis ground
