What head for VX engine?

Default What head for VX engine?

I did a search but mostly what I found was info about swapping vtec heads onto SI engines...not much about swapping vtec heads onto VX engines.....am I looking in the wrong place?

Its not worth swapping heads onto a vx engine because your compression will be lowered..this is due to the 7.05mm piston dishes...

it 'may' be a bigger deal than you think. Although I have not fully investigated the possibilites, you are going from a 'three valve' configuration to a four. I understand the pistons are almost dished, but do your homework before you just throw all that stuff on.

why would it matter about going from the 3 valve system to the 4 valve? its not like your using the same head....the only problem lies in the pistons ive done a fair amount of research on this because when i had my vx i wanted to do the same

Both the Si and VX already have VTEC heads. You can put the Si head on the VX and have a mini-me. I'm not too familiar with the mini-me but I believe that is a common one.

Whoa.. how can you put a Si head on a VX block you will get a CEL for not having a EGR attached to it.. your best bet is to ditch that block and swap it. I myself am rebuilding a D16Z6 and using that instead of a VX motor

No CEL if you use a P28....who would use a p07 anyway?

5 wire...ah the P28 uses a 4 wire....the VX uses a 5 wire....
