Recently I made post about my civic getting into a wreck and how I was going to swap bigger brakes from a integra. well I have a sister that only drives auto, she and I will be moving to CA. my parents are about 90% sure that they want to buy me a automatic civic and sell my manual civic! they want me to drive a auto just in case her car breaks down and she can drive mine.

The question is what should I do? I am a bit confused, I know I can do what Quad-Damage is doing, running low boost. All this time since I started to drive I had a long project but it is all screwed up.

EDIT: Right now all I know is that I will be getting a civic but I think I have a choice on year and type. so whats your preference? 01+ civic or 99-00 civic?

that was the first to come to my mine but no my sister doesnt want to. my parents also want to sell it cause I am the only one who can drive it, which is a glorious thing.

 

1.tell your parents they are idiots.
2.tell your sister to stop being a whiny bitch and learn how to drive stick.
3. don't get a 01+ civic...the d17 motor sucks ***** and they are heavy...the only decent one is the si, but it looks like a minivan

got into a wreck myself a while back. needed a new fender, spindle assembly, and some other stuff. sometimes i think maybe i shouldve junked it and got a 99-00 civic hatch. they're front end looks so much nicer than 96-98's. dont really like the look of the 01+ civics. but yea i have an auto and i've jus given up all hope on thinkn im fast. jus tryin to make it look pretty, maybe some jdm ricer style.

honda automatic's suck. a stock auto tranny isnt gonna hold up to boost long... stock clutch wont even hold boost.

 

My parents already decided that I will be buying a auto civic and sell my current civic. I am interested in getting a 99-00 civic EX auto and getting a td04-15g in it and just run low boost, basically for show.

I guess I have just **** it and stop thinking about being fast for awhile. For everyone that just started driving and has a stick is quite fortunate.

 

buying my own car will set me back so much. But the best idea for my problem right now is buyign my sister a new car.

Anybody know much about any aftermarket for the K series civics?

Every single person in my family, including my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who are of driving age (14+) can drive stick. How can people not know how to drive stick? I teach three or four people a semester on my own car and it takes 15 minutes before they drive home on real roads.

Tell your parents they can sell your car if one of them learns how to drive stick. Teach them how much more control you have over a vehicle when you can actually tell it how to put its power to the ground. At that point, your father (at least) will realize what a *** everyone is for driving auto and they'll let you keep it and they'll sell your sister's car and then sell your sister too, because the bitch don't drive stick!

If ur parents are going to pay for it you really wont have much say if they're anything like mine. Go out and teach ur sis how to drive a stick. I showed my girl how to drive my turboed civic and she was so nervous she was going to break my car but she did perfect. Or just get a manual swap once u get to CA.
**** it dude just get some NOS. A 50 shot on an auto should give u low 15's easy.

I am 17 and to clear it up I drive a stick civic and I have to drive a auto civic soon because of my sister. I worded that wrong they bought the stick civic now they want to switch to the auto civic.

So your parents are going to replace your manual civic for an auto one so your sister can drive it as well when you move out to cali. But once you get there you're going to perform an auto to manual swap... You were also thinking about getting a turbo for show. Sorry, but you sound like an idiot to me.

 

i say ask if u can buy ur car off your parents...see if they go for that. i drove an auto lx 4 door for about 6 months till i saved up enough for my del sol vtec. it was not a fun time, full of work, saving every penny i had. this was back when i was 16. now that im 19 im glad i did it. teaches you some respect for what u worked hard for. now im turbo'd and in college i recently chalked up how much ive spent on my car and how much it ran me...with all my mods and stuff ive totalled in about 17k into my car alone. so u can do it just a lot of sacrafices, i once ate ramen noodles for a month so i could afford a header so i say suck it up and do everything u can to get ur own car.

 

So your parents are going to buy another new car for you, and you are going to swap the tranny out which defeats the purpose of them buying you this new car in the first place? You're looking for trouble son. What do you think your parents are going to do when they find out that you have done this? You think driving an auto sucks, well get used to riding the bus.
