I know I'm pretty new here but why buy a carbon fiber hood? For looks? The OEM hood only weighs like 13 lbs. and most CF after market hoods weigh like 6 to 8 lbs. Not much savings if you ask me but it's everyones individual taste that matters.

Well, i want the looks since i have a lip and plan on buying a wing. Is it wrong of me to buy one? i mean i know the stock is light, but i still want a cf hood.

Like I said, it's a personel taste thing. It's not that I don't like the look but I always like parts to serve a function more than looks. If you're into that look then check out http://www.nopi.com and look at the VIS carbon fiber trunk, it'll save more weight than the hood and complete the look you're looking for.

off topic question, how do the people with the vents in the hood (like the one above) keep water out of there?? just dont drive in the rain?

I dont think it really matters if water gets down in there. Not sure though.

Are those headlights tinted? They look sick.

The money can be better spent elsewhere on the car. That out of the way, get one, I think they look dang sexy (especially on white)

For the tinting, does the curvature of the lens matter? Does the heat effect it? Is that a VIS Invader hood? Are those stock powder coated rims? As of right now this is what I have planned for my car, down to the same Ricks badges I just ordered, does anyone see faults in what he has done?

the VIS vented hood is a replica of that one. The hood on the red s2000 is a authentic J's Racing hood( Wesmaster's Car )

Is VIS respectable enough to purchase a hood from? Im debating between the VIS Invader or the Fiber Images OEM one.

Actually, most of the aftermarket hoods weight 14lbs.

This is one of the silliest mods ever for the S2000.

Yes I agree. The stock S2000 hood is quite light (partially due to it's small size). You'd save more weight per dollar by getting a lighter battery.
