Default b18c1 or h22a in del sol

b18c1 for $2700, and h22a for $1850... which should i put in my del sol... the b18c1 would fit easier, but it's not as powerful. h22a is harder to swap, but has more power... but the h22a is heavier and i'd lose a little handling right? so i'm sorta leaning towards the b18c1, but i'm having trouble deciding, because the h22a is only $1900!!! and that's 900 less whichi could use for suspension and ****.. i can't decide....

i am currently swaping a h22 in my del sol .. not many del sols around here with h22. Only reason why i picked the motor beside the massive power from it

I put an H22 in my del Sol about a month ago and I don't regret one thing about it. I love the low end torque, the great throttle response, and the massive power that you get up top as well.

I can't feel a huge difference in the way the car handles really...but I think that it has to do with the fact that the del Sol isn't the best at handling to begin with.

you dont need a/c unless u r living somewhere very hot. and u dont need power steering either cuz its a little car, not too hard to live without ps on a small car. and you can put an intake on the motor but most people just do the short ram because it is much easier. and you can always put an exhaust on a car, thats not a matter of what motor you have if ure just getting a cat back.

H22. Just get some custom rated springs to help out with the weight balance.

Bolt-ons shouldn't be a problem, though, some headers could be an issue with A/C should you decide to keep it.

The h22 may cost more, though.

Do some research. H22A is hardly inexpensive. Mounts and axels are not cheap. Also weight is not an issue. I suggest H22 or b18c5.

i found h22a for $1990, and b18c for 2700$... i'd rather go with the h22a for the price and the power... i dont' have power steering to begin with, so that won't be a problem, but a/c? i wouldn't be able to have a/c with the h22a?

A/C can be kept with a special mount. I think http://www.jdmshit.com carries a complete kit for an H22 swap.

h22a + nitro = same price as b18c1.

And it will be a **** load faster.
on upgraded suspension

It seems that the h22a is the best.

hmmm ....h22 is a nice motor , but dont get me wrong it's not as cheap as you might think...... motor mounts $300 and a decent set of axles $3-$750 axles is where it can get expensive other wise if you go cheap you will go through axles . But h22 gets my vote . I'm satisfied with h22 and handling wont be a problem if your invest in your suspension

Do yourself a favor and research exactly what needs to be done to install that H-duc duc in your ride.

Sure, it looks like you save $900, but don't forget you need:

Buy custom mount kit
Cut your floor for shifter cables
Cut your passenger tranny mount for shifter linkage
Buy the right length axles to fix midshaft
Custom wire the engine harness
Custom fit the intake
Custom fit the header/cat/exhaust - This will not be a bolt in

Among other misc stuff.

So, do your research before posting such things as "drop it in and spend the other $900 on xxxxxx"

I would like to know the total price people are spending on their H22a swap into a Del Sol.

Thanks
Phil
