H-series cams vs. B-series cams, how can you tell?
I think I picked up a pair of H-series cams on accident. Don't worry I didn't pay for them or anything, but they have Vtec lobes and ALMOST fit in my B-16 head. The spacing between lobes is a bit larger than my B-series Vtec cams. I don't want them or need them. They're stock cams for sure, but I'm not sure if they're out of a Prelude or what. I'll consider any offers on them...but I want to know what they are!!
If you know which is intake and which is exhaust then you can check for the index mark on the end of the cam for the distributor. H's have it on the exhaust, B run off the intake. Only thing I can think of right now.
Ya, I know how to identify b-series cams, but these are slightly longer than b-series cams. The distributor side of the intake cam looks like that of a GSR cam, with no rings or markings on them. I thought they were GSR cams, so I went to install them into my B16 head but they didn't quite fit. Any other ways to tell if they're h-series or not? Thanks.
