Default S2k owners, look here and answer~~!!!

Ok, a while ago i noticed that one of the little notch, the second to last one, on the s2k gas gauge was not lighting up. But i never paided extra attention to that until that point, so i dont know if that notch was ever on. If so i'm gonna take it to the dealer and get it fixed.

so which is it on yours?

The first notch past empty NEVER lights up on mine. I've read similar from other owners.

I'll check when I'm low on gas next. I try to fill up before it reaches that point.

Yeah. It never lights up. It's a common worry among S2k owners.

well i though that notch would always light up as long as you have gas beyond that level. I dont think its gonna simpily turn on right when you're about to run out of gas.

I have an '03 and it's never lit up on mine. The dealer says this is normal, and we looked at the other '03 on the lot. It didn't light up either.

I had an '00 with 21000 miles and it and it never lit up. My Dad's '00 had 2 miles when he got it and it never lit up. I don't think they're supposed to light up.

i just saw a best motoring video with a s2k. I saw the gas gauge, it doesnt light up either.

Hmmmm... interesting, is it just a common failure? how does it account for people who claim it light up?

Hmm, I see some people here with '01's say it is lit up. Mine is a 2001 and it is NOT lit up. There's a black strip there, and then the bars start.

Oh well, doesn't bother me too much. I think it would look a bit funny lit up since the black bar is slightly thinner than the lit up bars.
