s200 antenna project
I am almost done with the s2000 antenna conversion. I just need to know how to tap out the coupling to 5mm. I have email bseries but they are not responding back. does anyone know how to do this?
You need to take a coupling that is as close to 5mm as possible and then use a 5mmx.8mm tap on it. YOU can get this at the hardware store. Let me know if you have any other questions
i'd get one for the right price... that is if i can t get it to fit on my civic somehow, but hey... iv made other stuff fit... im sure i could this fit somehow

NO offense guys...but why do you need a Group Buy? I just did Trey's conversion and spent about $30-35 on everything; ie. antenna($22), nuts($.75), bolt($.30), coax wire($5), coupling($.50), washer($.35), and pvc($1). That is one of the cheapest mods I've ever done! Most of you will blow more than that on dinner/drinks this weekend! Just order the parts from your local Honda dealer and be done with it.
You guys are welcome to do it yourself, that is why I wrote the how to at Bseries.
I will really try to get all this stuff together soon . . . I am working 60+ hours a week at my day job plus trying to keep Import Specialists a float.
Cost will be about $40 + the shipping.
Chris,
When you did the install did you hit any problems? ANy suggestions to make it work a better? Always looking to improve the original idea.

Ok, i'll try to do it myself
Just have a Q for you carlex. What's the part number of the S2000 antenna? Do we need just the antenna itself or we need the base too? Please let me know thanks.

I might end up doing it myself. I only want a pre-made one because the b-series.net details are kinda fuzzy (no offense).
Feel free to make kits to sell to us if you like. Nobody has made any yet for our cars. I know Celica and Miata message boards already have the kits for sale for their cars, yet us Integra owners don't have a place to order from yet. Be the first, somebody!
Here's a place to order the antenna: H and A Accessories

Trey~
As I suggested in my private email to you, a few minor details need to be changed. Here they are!
The PVC pipe used needs to be 3/4" NOT 1/2" as stated.
The slash cut to the PVC tube needs to be approx. 25-30 deg rather than 45 deg. The 45 deg. put the coupling/bolt at too extreme of an angle to bolt together properly. You also DO NOT have to glue the washer to the PVC as long as it is larger than the PVC.
Outside of that, I thought the install and Trey's directions were very straight forward. I did lose a bit of reception on some stations, but I'm more than willing to give that up to lose that nasty OE antenna.
How many of you want a bolt-in kit? If enough people are interested, I will research putting an entire kit together that will be plug & play. Let you know!

oh yea, I for got about the 3/4" part.
Need to do that asap.
I actually cut at a 45 degree angle for ease of angle judgement and then set the coupling to the front of the PVC. THis centered the antenna base. Either way will work.
I will try and build some with more detail and put it on bseries.net

No, you dont need the base. You can use the one thats already on your car. So all you need from honda is the actual antenna. Another thing, the angle you cut the PVC depends on how you decide to position the antenna. You will understand once you get to that point.
I just talked to my source for the antennas. I'd need 5+ people to make this worth my time.
