Default Mini Me.. 1.5 Liter?

What is your guys opinion on Mini-Me D16Z6 with the DX block? Can the DX handle the 130HP? I searched throughout that big Mini-Me post but didn't find anything about a DX block. Thanks..

it's not going to be a problem. just a little more wiring.

Why would wiring be an issue using a DX block? Take out the Oil Jet, use my Si / HF wiring harness I have laying around with the Si distributor..

Anyone else?

i did it and it runs great. make sure you get an adjustable cam gear. the z6 head will be off 1/2 tooth. your going to have to convert to mpfi too. search mpfi and you should come up with a lot of good info

I have an HF already.. I don't need to convert... Just main question is if the block will work.

d15 = shorter stroke, higher compression, but weaker rods..

in theory, the d15 VTEC has a similar power curve up to about 7,000 rpm, where it actually surpasses the d16 vtec.

Same thing happened to me but on a d16y7 block with a d16y8 head. I wonder why it spun a bearing..

Sounds kinda iffy to me now... Spun bearings eh? Did you guys beat the hell out of the motors or what? I need this motor to last more than 1,000 miles that's for sure.

As long as it's reliable I don't care.. We'll see whathappens. I am talking about the EF CRX / Civic DX block if anyone isn't sure.

spun bearing = lack of oiling + overrev.

hmm when i start my car cold it will stutter to about 1000rpm, the oil light will blink one more time than its supposed too. and then the car runs great. i change the oil every 3k miles and have had my mini-me for a littleover 1k miles. oh yea, i take it up to 7500 daily.

true
but thats the reason....
now u need to find the cause
wich its either a bad oil pump, bad oil, bad clearances on the bearings, or clogged lines inside the crank and other passages

Do you guys thinking using an Si oil pump in the DX block would help prevent a spun bearing?

Do you really need an adjustable cam gear for a Z6 head on a D15B7. I've read BauleyCivic's write-up and he doesn't seem to use one.

Need the info, I'm swapping tomorrow...

im running a d15 block with a y8 head. it runs just fine. my d16z6 block spun a bearing and i am almost done rebuilding it. so just goes to show that you can spin bearings in both blocks.

Didn't you have oil pressure problems?? I seem to remember a post you created about it.
